Game Developers Showcased in VR

In what is likely to become way more common over the next few months (years?), Facebook has decided to hold a press event in Virtual Reality. With events like the Game Developers Conference (GDC) being canceled, companies like Facebook lose a venue to make their big gaming announcements for the year. Lucky for them, they own a fairly big platform where everyone can join in from the safety of their homes.

To make the best use of it, Facebook announced the hosting of "digital" Facebook: Game Developers Showcase. Here is a snippet from there:

There’s so much to share, from game updates to first details on new experiences. We’ll see what’s coming next for popular titles like Pistol Whip from the team at Cloudhead Games and Beat Saber from the folks at Beat Games. We’ll also get fresh takes on original titles coming to Quest, like The Room VR: A Dark Matter from Fireproof Games, Lies Beneath from Drifter Entertainment, and Phantom: Covert Ops from nDreams.

So if you have a Quest or a Rift/Rift S, check out their blog tomorrow and tune-in!

JoseQ's Look at this Thing

Have you purchased stock in companies that deal with online classroom technology yet? If VR needed a push to become more mainstream, this might be it. We are likely moving into a Ready Player One type world pretty soon.

Surprisingly enough, there's no word on Faceboook's Horizon which was hyped a lot at their last big announcement. Is there a classroom setup in that world? If there wasn't, you can bet there will be. It's definitely an interesting world we're living in these days.
